Usage counters (for example, how many times the app was opened)To choose a good moment to ask for a rating and to improve the appStored only on your device in this version. They are not sent to us.
Advertising data (advertising ID, device information, approximate location from your IP address, ad interactions)To show and measure ads in the free appCollected by Google AdMob. See below.

Location

The app asks for location permission the first time you use it. You can decline and search for a city instead. In this version, Stormkeeper uses your location only while the app is open. You can change the permission at any time in your phone’s settings.

Advertising

The free app shows ads through Google AdMob. Google and its partners may collect and use your device’s advertising ID, device information, IP address (which indicates approximate location) and how you interact with ads, to show ads, limit how often you see them, measure them and prevent fraud. Where required, the app asks for your consent first, and you can change your choice in the app’s settings under privacy choices.

Learn more: How Google uses information from apps that use its services. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings under Privacy → Ads.

Stormkeeper never shows ads while a watch or warning is active for your location.

Services the app contacts

Like any website request, these services see your IP address and the area of the map or data you request. Each has its own privacy policy.

What we do not do

Children

Stormkeeper is a general-audience app and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Keeping and deleting data

Everything the app stores is on your device. To delete it, clear the app’s storage in Android settings or uninstall the app. To ask about data held by Google for advertising, use the Google links above.

Safety notice

Stormkeeper shows official alerts but does not replace outdoor sirens, Wireless Emergency Alerts or a NOAA Weather Radio. Alerts can be delayed by your network or device.

Changes

If we change how the app handles data, for example by adding alerts while the app is closed, we will update this page and the date above before the change reaches you.
